The following are short segments from "Two Thousand Solutions".

Manufacturers

There were 3.5 billion programmable micro controllers shipped in l995, 7
billion in 1996, and an estimated 14 billion last year. No one knows
where all of the controllers are and no one knows if they are Year 2000
compliant.

Here are some obvious ones: cordless phones, answering machine, cable
television systems , Home communication and entertainment satellites,
Personal computers, automated lighting systems, automated lawn
sprinklers, home security systems, alarm clocks, programmable
thermostats, elevators, trains, buses, automobiles, traffic light
controllers, street lights, dishwasher, waste disposal systems, photo
copiers, fax machines, and so on. If there is only a small percentage
that malfunctions It will be enough to cause major distress unless
properly prepared.

Medical

The Year 2000 problem may put the health care industry in a "Critical
Condition". Hospitals, Nursing homes, Labs, Doctors are reliant on the
industry supply chain. Throughout this chain are millions, probably
billions of embedded microprocessors. The majority of these processors
are non-compliant. If they only put out bad data, society will be lucky.
If the problem is more severe, which is the most likely occurrence,
people will die. Millennium failures in the health service are likely to
result in between 600 and 1,500 deaths.

Finance

Although few now realize it, the nation stands on the threshold of one of
the most challenging technical problems the banking and financial
services industry has ever faced the so-called "Year 2000 problem." The
financial industry is especially vulnerable to Year 2000 problems, yet
only about 10% of banks and other companies have completed programs to
handle them, and 14% are still in assessment phases. The lack of
concern and action on the part of the banking community is particularly
distressing. Federal regulators report that of the nation's community
banks, some 500 (which hold 16% of U.S. Banking assets), either are doing
nothing about their Year 2000 problem risks or are only beginning to
develop correction plans. Some smaller banks are moving slower in their
preparation due to lack of funds, and are not receiving priority due to
their size.

The Guidebook "Two Thousand Solutions" will offer you a simple way to
prepare the things in your life for this event. Cost estimates are in the
$600 Billion range. WHO WILL PAY? YOU WILL!!!!! Keep your portion to a
minimum.

Don't delay, the calendar waits for no one!
