Hi...

A number of site now show the levels a person has drilled through to get
to a particular document at the top of the page, either with a series of
text links or with a pull down menu. They tell the user where they are
on the site and provide quick links to section pages, etc.

Other people, though, find these hierarchical links confusions,
especially if they jump into a page from "marquee" link from the home
page or from a search engine -- the main way people appear use Web
sites.

Do people find these hierarchical links useful, or are they an unneeded
distractions? If you have used them in your site, what have your users
told you about them? And, finally, can anybody point to a site that does
a good job of incorporating its hierarchy into its page design?

Thx...
