I'm sleeping-past-my-bus-stop, coffee-doesn't-do-it, where-am-I? tired.
I just haven't been sleeping well this past week. I keep having these
dreams about right-clicking on people to find out what they're thinking,
kittens writing tin-foil ball tutorials, and super-heroes that eat
nothing but bone marrow. I think I've been working too hard. And if the
amount of new stuff on the site's any gauge, I'd say we're all working
too hard.

Design and develop distributed applications using
Microsoft Visual Studio(tm) 6.0. Microsoft has created a course where
you'll learn from top instructors in your area, so you can master
distributed application development. Click now to get $100 off your

- - > Webmonkey / Adobe ImageReady vs. Macromedia Fireworks

Two new Web-centric graphics programs have just hit the scene from
powerhouses Adobe and Macromedia. The Webmonkeys have taken these
what-you-see-is-what-you-get, all-in-one Web-graphics tools into their
lair to test, like so much Samsonite luggage, and see which one is built
to last.

Tuesday - 2 Webmonkeys, 2 programs, 2 very different points of view

- - > Synapse

What's more gruesome, the hype surrounding "Saving Private Ryan" or the
gore and violence of D-Day itself? Katz thinks it's a toss up.

Coming Tuesday - Is pop culture a spiritual haven for Lost
Generation-Xers, as Tom Beaudoin asserts in his new book, "Virtual
Faith"? Katz takes a look.

- - > Member Central / Geek of the Week: Jason

This PEZ-hogging, Mountain Dew chugging, Evel Knievel-loving California
boy is a true Boba Fettishist.

- - > Cocktail / Jasmine

Now Bay Area locals can demonstrate their civic pride AND enjoy a
refreshing aperitif at the very same time. Just a baby in the drink
world, this bitter bev was invented a mere handful of years ago. So come
out and support this local young upstart!

- - > RGB Gallery / location, location, location

RGB's very first group show tackles the slippery meaning of "you are
here" on the Web. "My Place" gives you a peek into the minds of the
children of a remote, rural area of Northern California. "Hotel" uses
the memories of its creators to take us from Minnesota to Vietnam to
Hamburg. And }}}destinATiON{{{ explores the concept of travel on the Web
(a place with no distances).

- - > Web 101 / Web Glossary

Sometimes the Net can seem like a dense forest of jargon - take one step
off the beaten path, and you're lost. Fortunately, Web 101 has created a
trail of bread crumbs for you to follow: the Web Glossary.

Leaving? On a jet plane? Don't know when you'll be back again? (Just
thought I'd get that song lodged in your head as a parting gift. Enjoy!)
