If you can't join 'em, be 'em. Sunline is an ISP that was started two
years ago as a separate and equal division of the Sun Coast Media Group,
which also owns the Charlotte Sun Herald and Venice Gondolier newspapers
in SW Florida.

The plan worked quite well. Last year C/Net's members continuously
ranked our ISP as one of the top 10 in the country, not a bad feat for
an ISP run by two newspaper people, Debbie Dunn Rankin and Ronald
Dupont.

The content? Well, before we ever put one story online we started
putting the community online first. The resources of the ISP have made
the content some of the best in the world, according to E&P and NAA
judges.

It's been a very expensive proposition. We buy the best ISP equipment
and hire some of the best programmers available in our area. But we
charge a premium rate and have some 4,500 happy customers.

If you are thinking about starting your own ISP, feel free to contact me
for more information.
