In a message dated 98-08-14 00:35:07 EDT, you write:

<< that a partnership conversation is
not marked by any particular emotional content. >>

Will:

Its great to hear from you...

I actually didn't notice much the
dichotomal staging of the
"hurt" conversation, although
those aspects were brought up
by Ray, I believe...so Ray may
have seen and said them as a
way of summarizing what could
be said...and you are correct to me
that that summary is not Cat. 3...

However, that PEX conversations
are not "emotional" is something
you may have made up...

What PEX conversations may be
is only emotional when emotions
are an immediate communication
of objective consciousness...
Now that sounds a lot stranger than
the "hurt" conversations...But the
reasons there is no "hurt" in PEX
conversations is because there
is no "I" to identify with....But,
more importantly, as there is an
"identity" in PEX; a community identity,
the reason why there is no hurt
is because there is no thing as
negative emotions ... Yes that's
correct...no such thing. We made
that up ( too). Emotions are no
less, maybe more so, a form of
intelligence as intellect. We
wouldn't say there is hurt thinking.
So, I'd like to consider that emotions
like intellect are not positive or negative,
possibly expanding ( encompassing)
and contracting ( focusing)...
they are ways to be aware of things,
and I'd go as far as to say if they
are to be labeled anything...it
would be positive....at least that's
motivating....

What we call "hurt" ( I believe) stems from
the limitations of being "I"... and possibly
as a consequence of a "failure to be"...
"Hurt" as a negative emotion is a
fabrication to explain a ( sense of) failure.
And, that's good news!!! Because if it was
real we wouldn't have a chance. We
could never "disappear" them, go
past them, or transform them. They
actually don't exist except in monologue...
and PEX "lives" in dialogue a, and
what may be obvious is that monlogue
doesn't actually exist...If it did we couldn't
get away from it.....

What we have here is that only dialogue
exists, and its always been that way....
What we call monologue is a continuous
feedback loop of failure (to be) awareness:
yes an irritation...
like a pearl...
covered up with more and more by
fabricated negative emotions,
which don't exist

Surrender to the irritation;
the failure (to be)
by communicating (*) it openly
and it transforms and/ or
disappears

....same thing

SETH

(*) Surrender has come up before,
and this is what it means...Being
in Dialogue: surrendering our
"irritation"; our monologue to be in
in dialogue....awareness and participation
as an awareness in dialogue
may not happen without a surrender
of our "failure to be"...which is a
monologue...and doesn't truely exist...
