Kurt,

In my view message boards depend on a sense of shared community or
interests.  Visit iVillage's boards (full disclosure - I work for them) and
you will see what I mean.  We've created a sense of trust and shared
interest that leads women to our boards - they know those with whom they
share information are genuinely engaged in the same area.  I think that's
the big motivator.
