REVIEWS

* Next-generation networking
IPv6 completely redefines IP addressing and routing, and
adds key features. Both network infrastructure and
programming will be greatly affected by the transition
from IPv4 to IPv6. Your networking and application
development professionals will need time to get up to
speed on IPv6 -- if you start preparing now, you will
be ready for the change.

* PowerBuilder Enterprise 6.5
Sybase's 4GL rapid application development tool boasts
bolstered support for Web applications, data design
tools, and Component Object Model (COM) and CORBA
support. This version also marks the beginning of
PowerBuilder's integration into Sybase's new Enterprise
Application Studio. But not all of the shared
components and features are fully implemented.

* PowerJ Enterprise 2.5
The addition of flexible Java Development Kit (JDK)
versioning support and the current enterprise feature
set continue to make Sybase's Java development tool a
good value for existing customers. Those new to Java
will like PowerJ's tutorial aids and sample code.
However, the development interface is not as conducive
to boosting productivity as those in some rival
offerings.

As expected, Intel on Monday introduced its fastest PC

LATEST BACKORIFICE BREACH RAISES QUESTIONS OVER SECURITY ETHICS

Java, despite its security features, is being used more
and more to create potentially damaging hacks, and in at
least one case is leading some observers to wonder if
the security vendor community should have its own
version of the Hippocratic oath.

WithinReach Software, in Haifa, Israel, has re-released
