Try http://www.wais.com It is a plethora of backup information from
about 2000 sources, including news-wires, press-releases, government
statistics, government contracts, filings, and budgets. Think of it as
an "Almanac" the size of the encyclopedia Britannica, with updates the size
of the Manhattan Telephone book - Daily.
You can use the web interface, or use the WAIS client to search several
hundred at the same time. Many servers also provide relevance ranking,
ordered most relevant/most recent first, with older then less relevant to
follow.
