Actually, the most powerful weapon is to listen, and draw out the
extremists. The same group that originally came up with the principles
behind "Contract For America" have other more interesting items on their
plates including:

Concentration camps for AFDC recipients - The politically correct
term is protected population centers. "Protective" security measures
such as concertina wire, electronic surveillance, and guards armed with
automatic weapons would "protect" mothers and children receiving welfare
from Abusive Men, Drug Dealers, and ultimately all men in general. Women
who got pregnant while inside the camp would be moved to maximum security
facilities. Women who leave the compound risk losing their benefits...
and their children. (It's all there in alt.politics.*)

NCPs who did not pay their child support would be put into a program
patterned after the Community Corrections Program. DYFSS would get
everything after the $35.00/day hotel bill (for hotels you could rent for
$45/week otherwise and you share the room). The mother would receive 1/2
of the remaining earnings and keep the rest to pay of the national debt
and cover administrative and investigative organizations.

DYFSS would use bounty hunters to capture "Dead-Beat-Dads", since they
are not constrained by the "unreasonable restrictions" of the
constitution. The bounty would be a percentage of the past due child
support.

Children over 12 would be sent to "Summer Camp". Camp Fort Dix, Camp
Paris Island, Camp ... Training would include most of Boot Camp,
and tuition loans would be "Repaid" through forced labor in the
construction and rehabilitation of housing projects (those protected
communities we talked about before). Choice properties would be restored
to a quality suitible for the private sector.

Medical benefits for those over the age of 65 would be limited to
"relief of acute physical pain".

Instead of ignoring the internet news groups, they should be treated as a
pool of opinion surveys in which the inner workings of various factions
can be viewed in detail. It's like having a bugging device in the
caucaus rooms of both political parties.
