Doug, what's your URL?
aol is great for e-mail, but what you want to do is best handled via a
www server. I have described how to make one (PC/Linux/http) for under $700.
I you would rather not be a server, get an account with someone who
offers Home Page services. Try a telnet to cnj.digex.net. Once you are on
the REAL internet you can choose from several thousand servers. Rates
run about $30-$50/month + $1/megabyte/month
A 24/7 PPP/SLIP connection runs about $100-300/month including phone charges.
An ISDN connection runs $300-$500, and T1 runs about $1000-2000 depending
on commitments, support, and service desired.
A UNIX/Linux system, tested with Satan can double as a fire-wall.
