Get the Slackware distribution. Almost everything from 4.1.3 (except
mailtool) is in there, get a big hard disk and install all of the
contributed software. If you had to buy it by the piece at CompUSA, you
would have to spend about $10,000 for the 8,000 applications that are
included.
If you really like it, get the "support package" ($100 for 4 quarterly
updates). What you don't get is a good project manager (but you can make
your own custom version with ATK), and a network manager (chemera offers
one). The latest on the net is that there are 6 relational databases,
most of whom offer commercial "Professional" editions.It's a bit like
comparing Works to Microsoft Office. The "Professional" has all the
"wizards and cue-cards". The generic just have info files.
