I'm not clear why you haven't just purchased a cable to plug your CD-ROM 
into your "soundblaster" card.

The trick on that is to run the script manually using the terminal 
software (term?), and capture the "script"  I only wait for prompts
which I know will be delayed.  I comment out the waitfor's that
come back immediately.
