Actually, I had a vasectomy. What was my consolation? Did I get a
reduction in Child support (No - it went up). Did I get custody (no, I
wasn't even allowed to raise the issue). Did I get more generious
visitation (No, my ex decided my visits were disruptive to her family).
How about a tax reduction (nope, went up).
How about improving my social life? Nope! It seams that several women
immediately "Lost Interest" when they found out I was fixed. The
interesting thing is that they ended up pregnant within 4-6 weeks of our
"aborted date". I always that sex was a prerequisite to conception :-).
I see the only children I will ever have about 3 hours every two years.
I talk to them on the phone and try to pretend that I am still their
father. They tell me about the wonderful things they've done with
their daddy (my ex's new husband). Twice/month I send the child-support.
I'm paid up. I even overpay. The money I paid for day-care was used to
put her husband through college. He's been going to college for 5
years. He had a math degree when he proposed to my wife.
Maybe someday I will be able to afford to have a family. Today, I can
barely afford the rent. I earn in the upper 5% of the population. I
studied and trained for 30 years to reach this income earning capability.
I live on 20% of my salary.
