Paper newspapers have been late-comers to the world of online publishing. As 
I pointed out in a mail a few months ago, one of the early "online 
newspapers" was the Vogon News Service that grew out of the need for 
overseas englishman to get news about Cricket test scores, etc. This 
"newspaper" began to publish in about 1981 and had gone through something 
over 5,000 issues the last time I checked.

You could also look at the "Risk Digest" (See: the comp.risks newsgroup) For 
the last 17 years, this has been an online companion to Peter G. Neumann's 
columns in ACM publications concerning the risks of modern technology.

For many years at Digital in the early 80's, there was also the "Desperado" 
on-line magazine which regularly "leaked" out to sites on the Internet.

These publications all contained material that was developed for online -- 
not simply repurposed material from paper editions. In the case of Risks 
Digest, the online version has always been a *source* of information for the 
paper version.
