Online friends:  

As my newspaper moves toward putting its archive on the web, we're 
wondering what sort of revenues we might hope to rake in.  I would 
appreciate pointers to anything that has been written about this, and 
I would especially appreciate hearing from any of you who can tell me 
about how much money your online archives are making for you. 

Please reply privately; I will keep confidential any specifics anyone
cares to share.  And if you would feel more comfortable dialing my 
number below and whispering your dollar-figure to me or my voice mail, 
that would be fun too.  

It would help also if you'd mention what your billing method is:  

	- credit-card or other means that allow you to do one-time transactions 
with just about anybody on the web; 
	- a billing setup tied to your newspaper's ISP service that gives
only your subscribers access to your archives; 
	- credit-card or other method that lets just about anybody get to 
your archive on something other than a one-time basis (subscribing, etc).

If I get good info, I'll summarize it for the list.
