How could it be a "nicely tweaked presentation" if the writer simply puts
his/her own stuff directly into it? I have yet to see the writer whose work
didn't need at least a little attention from a copy editor. But what I sense
from this thread is that some people, at least, don't see the need for copy
editing before publication.....????? Try it sometime and see how
professional it looks.

(OK, full disclosure time: I am a copy editor ... )
