I agree that online reporters shouldn't be forced into doing their own HTML.
It's a waste of their time for them, and a web designer can do it better and
fast.

However, online reporters should have a closer working relationship than the
traditional one between copy editor and newspaper reporter, mainly because
content and design are more closely linked on the online world.  It may be
more akin to the relationship between a television video editor and a
producer where the producer collects the raw video of interviews and
information and the editor "assembles" the info for broadcast.
