Perhaps some journalists- freelancers can give me the strait dope. What in
fact is going on when a publisher tells you he likes your work but can
only pay X ammount of dollars. Is this an opening gambit or a firm offer.
As much as I like to write I could never support myself on the kind
money publishers are willing to pay.
