We've actually found a combination of email and the web is a good
approach--you don't want ALL of your stories sent to you (unless you
enjoy a deluge of articles :-), but, you want the important ones mailed
to you and the rest of the stories you're interested in available online
(plus archived stories, search facilities, etc.).

I think the important thing is finding the approach which works for your
users, and give them the choice of various delivery methods. Not
everyone has a fast net connection, or is always connected to the net
(i.e. dial-in accounts, laptop computers), and some people don't read
their email (and would rather browse the web). As is in all areas,
there's no "one" correct answer on what works better, it's all dependent
on the user.
