Would you define what local content you have tried that falls outside the
predictable categories of weather, sports, markets and the like?

Even ignoring local, yesterday's front page of the state edition of the
Chicago Tribune, for example, contained about Cardinal Bernardin coping
with dying, a blood substitute that will be tested on people without their
consent, the states' lawsuits against tobacco firms, the Perot exclusion
from presidential debates and Nazi-style torture of Korean POWs.

What categories would I have had to listed to get these stories?

Don't get me wrong. I'm a big fan of pull vs. push. But so far, I haven't
found a pull system smart enough to have known that I was in fact
interested in all of these stories even though I'm not Catholic, really
don't care much about health care, disdain most day-to-day political
coverage, tend not to read about the legal system or the tobacco industry
and care very little about Korea or the war there.
