Technically, this isn't a newspaper job, but a lot of folks out there in
our business want to expand their job skills or just flat make better
money. I spent almost 30 years as a full-time journalist. Now, I am a
part-time writer and editor and make my living as customer service manager
of a major DC Internet service provider.

We need a web master. "Designers" need not apply. I'm looking for a person
to run a major web site, interface with customers, write faqs, keep our
tools up-to-date and be a hands-on person. They pay is not bad, better than
what most entry and middle-level reporters/editors make in this country
(sad, isn't it?).

Plus, it's a chance to play with 100 megabit connections to the 'net, Sun
workstations, etc.

HOW does this relate to this news group? Well ..... Lots of newspapers in
this area are also looking for people with the same skills and it's been my
experience that it's a lot easier to get a job when you have a job. Of
course, we are looking for someone who wants to stay, but we're also
realistic. I think the newspaper and our online industry has the greatest
pool of untapped and underappreciated talent available.

If you're interested send me e-mail (dhughes@cais.com) with the subject
"Webmaster" and include a resume, etc. The job starts in the mid-20's,
maybe more for the right person.

It's open right now.

Dave Hughes
