        What's the logic behind even allowing that option, Steve? Seems a
bit like allowing nonenrolled students to shout comments into a seminar
room through the transom.
        One of the most useful distinctions between a mailing list and a
Usenet News group is that the participants have to make the minimum
commitment of subscribing to the list. I'm just curious as to the logic
behind waiving that for anyone who happens by the web site, and at a
minimum (a) confusing participants (viz. Eric, above) as to the source of
what you repost and (b) making more work for yourself.
