I have seen three large papers in recent week adavocating a complete
overthrow of the technological civilization on various grounds. Not one
had a clue as to the alternative civilization or how to bring it about.

The Unabomber and others who wish to replace this civilization will
very likely grow in numbers and impact as we head into the real storm
season but I can't take seriously the notion that a sane and reasonable
solution to the existing situation is a simple return to the state of
nature. What about the loss of life that that would entail, perhaps
billions and billions of lost souls, is that not the more
irrational response?

I wonder, also, how wise it is for those who, like the Attorney
General, are running this civilization into the ground for lack of a
principled understanding of human existence, to then accept the
extortionate demands of the mad bombers out of fear of their wrath?
What about the anger of responsible citizens, mad as hell over the rigged
and lopsided structure of power, the destruction of our democracy, the
fundamentally illegitimate state of our existence, does that not demand a
proper hearing and response? Or does it take the threat of serial murder
to awken public and private understanding?
