The thing is Mark, papers have been "going out of business" since the 
early days of television, and then radio. It was only when demographics 
began shifting and a recession and downsizing of retailers did newspapers 
really begin to clear out in the late 80s-90s. Yes, papers have been 
folding for years. New ones have opened here and there, as well. Most 
editors believe they won't fall prey to another medium, if they can beef 
up their local and niche coverage.

Lack of vision? What about Gannett? There's some vision, whether you 
agree with it or not.
