Exactly, Stan! Just because publishers *can't* make money off
shovelware doesn't mean they *can* make money off original content
(see the ongoing discussion of the Wired article)! Fact is, the most
profitable online publishing operations today are search engines --
the guys who make their money pointing everybody to our sites. What
can publishers do to compete? Follow AOL's lead and create virtual
communities where our readers want to hang out!
