How the Web Was Won

It's been a hectic week here at Press*Net, with virtually no time to read
online-news (sob!) Therefore, I have a mailbox full (I think 2.5 megs) of
mail. Will get to it sooner or later -- but it brings up a point that was
raised earlier this list: Someone said there was a way to figure out who the
message was going "To" using Eudora. I must have junked the response; sorry
to bug, but could anyone who remembers repeat it? It's been tough getting to
those non-chatty pieces of mail that I'm *supposed* to be reading.

Have a good weekend all..

PS - Saw an article in the NYTimes today that
furthers an idea that the AP ain't always in style . . . AP says the word
which we all know is spelled "online" (or in weaker moments, "on-line") is
actually two words when used as a state of being -- We are on line as
opposed to we're an on-line paper. It's gramatically correct, yes.

Of course, this looks extremely silly when your style (NYT) is to cap the
first letter of all words except prepositions, and you're left with a head
that says (this isn't exact): And Now, We're on Line. Like, we're on a line
in the supermarket? Or, maybe the staff is standing on a thin string hung
between the Twin Towers.

This is all the more funny when you go to the AP's Internet service and they
spell it as one word, no hyphens: AP ONLINE.

Then again, we all know that the AP is always right (chuckle).
