INET-NEWS is a low volume listserv which features :
1 announcements of new sources for NEWS *
2 analysis of existing NEWS sources
3 requests to develop teams of NEWS monitors and discussants
4 descriptions of specialized collections of NEWS sources
5 discussion of how to use NEWS on the net
* NOTE: The meaning of NEWS in this case is news from both news
bureaus and from local sources like radio and tv stations in South
Africa or community groups in Malasia. I also will be including
coverage of news related matters like press releases.
The list is designed to make internet NEWS resources better known.
And to encourage public use of, and interaction with the NEWS.
Coverage includes NEWS :
A delivered by email, usenet, listservs, gophers and WWW.
B provided daily, weekly, monthly and irregularly
C available free, for a fee, or both
D produced by volunteers, papers, broadcasters, and businesses
E covering local regional national and international events
F including commercial news, public relations, and propaganda
G in any and all languages and covering all cultures
The list will be useful to the public and
Teachers (languages, geography, current events, media)
Journalists and reporters
Activists and non profit groups
Internet service providers, civic networks and free-nets
Public relations firms, and other seeking coverage
Providers of new NEWS resources
