Hi Rex. Glad to hear from you.

My, this sounds very complex. Whatever does it mean? I'm computer literate
enough to browse the internet, I used to use an IBM mainframe to analyze
data, but now use a 486 with LISREL/EQS software (maybe you are familiar?).
Other than that, I don't have a great grasp of things. Fortunately for me,
the computing specialist for the College of Arts and Sciences is just down
the hall. If I get hung up, I can call on him. Anyway, I still don't really
have much of an idea of what you do. I'll just bet you know how to get out
of things without rebooting, which is my standard solution!

Albany is ok. I live north about 20 minutes, so I don't spend a lot of time
in downtown Albany. I think almost anywhere looks more interesting when you
don't live there. I knew someone ages and ages ago who lived in Princeton,
and seem to remember that he liked it. Do you?

Well, there was quite a bit of mail (or quite a bit of males), but as I
said previously, they loosely interpreted what I said I was looking for.
Maybe I should have been more specific, or maybe there are a lot of lonely
desperate men out there who are willing to try anything. Whatever the case,
I now have a large number of responses that I feel as if I should at least
send a "thanks but no thanks" message to. It seems impolite not to, but on
the other hand, I did say...

>What I like to do is solve problems (they're like puzzles), do the impossible
>(or that which seems impossible, and serve others. In addition to my

I was curious about your reference in your first response to being clean
and sober. And now, here it is again in a different form (helping others).
Does this mean you weren't so clean and sober? Majorly addicted to multiple
substances, or minorly addicted to a few, or majorly addicted to one, etc?
I'm not a substance abuser, but I am a social drinker, if that's relevant.
I'm also not familiar with Landmark Education. Care to fill me in?

I also enjoy music, not so much Broadway tunes though. Shopping...well,
I might like that if I had more time and money. I am a big fan of catalog
shopping, though.

This is very interesting. I like diversity in my world, and I am a collector
of people. I love knowing all kinds of people, and get along well with
many different types (selfish, self-serving, arrogant pigs I avoid, as
much as one can in an academic environment). I also am comfortable with
the gay community...but I'm completely straight? Are you?

>Now, how about you? What are you getting your PHD in? What are you
>doing now? What is your Idea of fun? What are some of your more wild

I'm completing my PhD in social/personality psychology, with a very applied
emphasis. The current population of interest to me is "at-risk" adolescent
females. I am developing a new project for this semester examining traditional
risk factors, current self-concept, concept of possible future selves, and
protective factors (those things that seem to insulate people at risk from
actually having the negative outcome). Outcome variables I'm interested in
are sexual behaviors - unintended pregnancy, unsafe sex, etc.

I was at a barbecue recently and someone asked me what I liked to do for fun.
I realized that I don't really know anymore. Isn't that awful (all work and
no play, etc.) I'm not a total drudge, don't get me wrong, it's just that
between family commitments (my father who is 76 and alone after 48 years
with my mother who died last March), and work, there is little time. I
love to dine out, boats/water, and as a young adult also enjoyed riding.
I also like movies, and reading for pleasure.

Well now, about my wilder fantasies... in what way do you mean this? I think
it's the one about doing my dissertation defense in interpretive dance.
Perhaps this isn't what you meant?
