Subject: Oh dear Dan From: "S. Finer" Date: Mon, 14 Aug 1995 10:41:40 -0400 (EDT)

This was a discussion of ISDN that Dan appears to want to skirt. My
position is that there has been some movement toward implementing ISDN
recently in some quarters. I expect to know within about 6 months whether
these noises reflect real movement, or just PR. Dan wants to discuss
other stuff........

On Mon, 14 Aug 1995, DDern fails to discuss substitantive content (why is
this unsurprising? :

> I said, in part, Dan excised my substantive content on ISDN.

My comment concerning ISDN is accurate, (reflecting multiple sources at
Jerry Lucas's conference a few weeks ago), but your's is merely foolish,
Dan,... that's the difference. For example, we'll see if GM does this
nonsense you speak of below. The proof is in the pudding, kiddo, not in a
name, or a title, or an employment affiliation. I have made numerous
observations to this list that have been vindicated in spades. If you
followed my posts, you'd know that. 8-)

For example, a couple of months ago Chip kept saying that the FCC reforms
were in doubt, using as a source a single NYTs article. I told him the
probability of their passing was very high, and that they would probably
clear the House in Aug. He assailed me for a few days thereafter, much as
you seem to be doing now, ...... but we have not heard much from him about
the FCC reforms more recently. ;-)

Anyone have any opinions about the probability of a veto override?

So, believe whatever you will. Your misperceptions are not my problem.

The following is Dan's comedic example:

> By the way, I have it on good authority that General Motors has
> a magic elixir that, when three drops are added to any tank of gasoline,
> doubles the mileage. It will be available 6 months after the first
> bug fix to Windows95. Sorry, can't tell you my source, but I assure
> you it's true.
>
Been nippin on this elixir, Dan?
