How the Web Was Won
Subject: 80/20 Content agreements From: Melody Winnig Date: Tue, 15 Aug 1995 12:30:56 -0400

Months ago in online-news we had a long discussion about content provider
terms. At the time, the standard was 80/20 splits favoring AOL, CIS, P*, and
alledged 50/50 splits for MSN and their content providers.
Do any of you know how any of the consumer online deals have evolved and how
MSN has influenced their terms.
Or where I could go on the net to find out? Or do content providers at the
big 3 online services still get a 20/80 deal?

Thanks much,
Melody
