I must not have made myself clear. I am looking for females. I know
what it is to start coming out, so I'll share a little of what I
discovered works for me.
I am in New Jersey. You may want to check out "The Haite" in San
Francisco. If your into TV/Guys, there are are some great clubs in S.F.
where the "Girls" parade with pride. There are two Leather Clubs that
have some very cute "Ladies" with a real class act. I'm told there are
some great clubs in Hollywood as well.
Some hints for building up your wardrobe. Start by taking all of your
measurements and comparing them against a Sears catalogue. I am a size
16 skirt/pant and a size 18-20 blouse. I can usually make a size 14 dress.
Start by shopping at thrift shops and only buy items where you can read
the sizes. Buy 3 blouses and 3 skirts. Generally men have much better
legs and tushes than women and you want to show that off if it's appropriate.
If you are thinking of going public, the Halloween season is a great time
to start. Got to lots of costume parties and try different outfits at
each party. I went to my first as a French maid in a modified size 24
maid's dress (I've lost a LOT of weight since then).
Don't show up at work in the dress, even as a costume. If you bring it
to the office, you declare yourself as a target. My employer couldn't
tell whether I was just excercising bad judgement or I was trying to set
myself up as a test case for sexual harassment. By the time I saw a
lawyer and a tharapist to confirm that I wasn't just paranoid, I also
knew I didn't want to sue that employer. Within a year after going
public, I resigned. I ended up with a much better job in an industry
dominated by women. I eventually moved east to enjoy the freedom and
diversity of N.Y.C. especially Greenwich Village and Soho. It was a
little disappointing to be honest. I'm told that Atlanta is the big
TV/TS capital these days (the southern climate is much more conducive to
dresses and skirts). There is supposed to be an IFGE (International
federation for Gender Education) convention in Atlanta in early October.
How old are you? What are your goals for coming out? What support
groups have you investigated or joined? Are you only a dresser or are
you also transgendered? I'm a gender bender (transgendered) myself.
I've been this way since I was at least 1 year old, maybe even before.
I actually remember preferring to play with girls while living in a place
that I moved away from in by the time I was 18 months old. I remember
that it took some effort from my grandmother to get the girls in my new
neighborhood to accept me as "nottaboy".
When I was 6, I moved again, and the parents of the girls in the new
neighborhood had no appreciation for a boy who played with Barbie Dolls
and wore their daughter's dresses. I was isolated for about 9 years
until boy-shy girls and gay boys started to accept me as "nottaboy". I
eventually went to college with 900 women, 20 gay men, and 5 heterosexual
men. I was a virgin for the 4 years.
I got engaged in 1980 and came out to my new house-mate. Eventually, she
met someone younger with more hair below the ears and ended our 8
year marriage to marry him. We had two children.
I 1990, I came out in a big way and met several interested people. I was
engaged twice, but careers took us in different directions. Today, I am
single again, but I am taking appropriate actions to change that.
If you are interested in taking appropriate actions to find the situation
you seek, write me again with more of what you are looking to create for
yourself. Maybe I can help you find the TV/TS/Woman/? of your dreams.
