You misunderstand.  The farce is not the agreement--which was fine in 
principle--the farce is that the "enhanced" Mosaic from Spyglass now 
lags by several generations the "free, with copyright" version 
available from NCSA.  I think that's great because Netscape--for all 
intents and purposes free--now faces a reasonable competitor that 
*is* free and the result can only be aggressively developing 
technology as the commercial companies fight for mindshare.  Go, boys 
and girls, go!

Here's the text from Spyglass' press release again:

"NCSA will continue to offer a public-with-copyright version of Mosaic
over  the Internet, which individuals can download for free.
As part of its agreement with NCSA, Spyglass will provide a number
