So far, the information seems to be quite closely held among a group of new
media executives at the companies involved. More information will be
forthcoming Sunday afternoon in New Orleans at a special meeting of
newspaper publishers attending the NAA convention.

In the meantime you might try Peter Winter, temporary head of New Century
and a Cox executive at apts44a@prodigy.com or Bob Ingle, Vice President/New
Media, Knight-Ridder Inc., and the godfather of Mercury Center, at
Bob_Ingle@aol.com.
They seemed to be the most-quoted today in news reports.

I'm curious whether this intends to be an operating online service or more
of a service bureau, and whether they hope to create de jure or de facto
standards for the online newspaper community.
