Forgive me if someone already explained this. I'm a little behind in reading
this list, so I've skimmed through some of the postings pretty quickly.

What I don't understand is this:

If the server doing the cacheing needs to check each time to make sure that
its cached page is up to date, doesn't each of those checks register as a hit?

If not, why not?

If so, what's the problem?
